Located in the heart of Romania, FÄgÄraČĀ is a historic city nestled at the foot of the FÄgÄraČ Mountains in the Transylvania region. Serving as the administrative center of FÄgÄraČ County, it covers an area of approximately 34 km2Ā and is home to a population of around 45,000 residents. Famed for its impressive FÄgÄraČ Citadel, a medieval fortress dating back to the 14th century, the city also serves as a gateway to the renowned FÄgÄraČ Mountains, attracting outdoor enthusiasts and history buffs alike.
Overall objective:Ā ensuring an efficient public passenger transport service and improving the conditions for the use of non-motorized means of transport, in order to reduce the number of trips by private transport (car) and to reduce the equivalent CO2Ā emissions from transport.
Thus, the Municipality of FÄgÄraČ aims to developĀ urban mobility by shifting the emphasis from car-based mobility to mobility based on walking, using bicycles as a means of transport, using high-quality and efficient public transport, reducing the use of cars in parallel with the use of non-polluting car categories.
